These have been hard times for everyone. Because of the preventive isolation measures taken across Colombia to slow the spread of COVID-19, many business owners have had to close their businesses while they wait for all this to end.
Given the current situation in Colombia, and in search of a solution so people can start working and generating income again, the National Government, together with iNNpulsa Colombia, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the Presidential Advisory Office for Economic Affairs, designed the platform “Yo Me Quedo en Mi Negocio” (“I Stay in My Business”).
But what is “Yo Me Quedo en Mi Negocio”?
In the words of the president of iNNpulsa Colombia, Ignacio Gaitán:
«It is a platform that will connect supply with demand, and that will allow all merchants to see how their sector is performing, which is their constant concern.»
This project is the first step the Colombian government has in mind in order to gradually reactivate the country’s economy, while at the same time trying to control the spread of COVID-19.
The platform is a great opportunity for micro, small and medium-sized businesses, which account for 80% of the country’s employment and 90% of the national productive sector, because it will give them a new way to reach and communicate with their market, so they can keep offering their products.
«This platform also makes it possible to activate payment buttons, both for deliveries and for brick-and-mortar businesses, and above all, it will allow us to share news and hold ongoing online events.»
Where can I find the platform?
“Yo Me Quedo en Mi Negocio” will be available starting next week through the website coronaviruscolombia.gov.co, and it will also be available on its own by searching for its name.
It’s time for digital transformation
One thing this period of preventive isolation is teaching us is that the new direction every company must take is toward the digital world.
During this period, internet activity has grown exponentially, and many more people are venturing to buy online and receive their purchases at their door.
Without a doubt, “Yo Me Quedo en Mi Negocio” is an innovative initiative and will be the first contact many micro, small and medium-sized businesses have with the digital environment.
With this first step, business owners can keep exploring other digital marketing alternatives that can strengthen their sales strategies, while taking advantage of what “Yo Me Quedo en Mi Negocio” offers.
Strategies such as Google Ads advertising and Facebook Ads, or good social media management, will complement the platform very well, because they give you more precise targeting of your audience and a better chance of selling your products to the people who are really interested.
The digital world is full of opportunities and growth for your business, and at Gulupa Digital we want to help you and be your ally during this transition.
